Eriskay Paradise

Coilleag a'Phrionnsa, or in English, the Prince's cockleshell strand. As well as being the location where Bonnie Prince Charlie first set foot on Scottish soil, this is also the location where the ship, The SS Politician, came to be grounded in 1941, allowing its cargo of 264,000 whisky bottles to be left to the the mercy of the locals, and immortilised in the popular film Whisky Galore.
